Das Johann-Strauss-Denkmal im Wiener Stadtpark ist eines der bekanntesten und meistfotografierten Denkmäler der Stadt. Es wurde zu Ehren des berühmten Komponisten Johann Strauss (Sohn), des „Walzerkönigs“, errichtet. Es befindet sich in der Nähe des Kursalon Hübner, wo das erste Konzert von Strauss 1868 stattgefunden hat.
Die vergoldete Bronzestatue zeigt Strauss stehend mit einer Geige in der Hand. Hinter ihm erhebt sich ein kunstvoller Bogen aus weißem Laaser Marmor, der mit Reliefdarstellungen von schwebenden Tanzpaaren geschmückt ist. Auf dem Sockel steht schlicht die Inschrift: „Johann Strauss“. Seine Bezeichnung zur Einweihung lautete Johann-Strauß-Denkmal, die Schreibweise seines Familiennamens ist jedoch inzwischen überholt.
Bereits 1903, vier Jahre nach dem Tod des Komponisten, wurde ein Komitee zur Errichtung eines Denkmals gegründet. 1906 schrieb man einen Wettbewerb aus, den der Bildhauer Edmund Hellmer gewann. Wegen finanzieller Probleme und des Ausbruchs des Ersten Weltkriegs verzögerte sich der Bau jedoch mehrfach. Erst am 26. Juni 1921 wurde das Denkmal feierlich enthüllt – begleitet von den Wiener Philharmonikern.
1935 entfernte man die beschädigte Vergoldung der Statue. Viele Jahrzehnte blieb sie bronzefarben, bis 1991 die ursprüngliche Vergoldung wiederhergestellt wurde. 2011 wurde das gesamte Denkmal umfassend renoviert.
Heute ist das Johann-Strauss-Denkmal nicht nur ein Symbol für die Wiener Musik, sondern auch ein weltbekanntes Wahrzeichen. Kopien der Statue stehen unter anderem in Osaka (Japan), Kunming (China), Havanna (Kuba), Pawlowsk (Russland) und Shanghai – ein Zeichen dafür, dass die Musik von Johann Strauss Menschen auf der ganzen Welt begeistert.

The Johann Strauss Monument in Vienna's City Park (Stadtpark) is one of the most famous and most photographed monuments in the city. It was erected in honor of the famous composer Johann Strauss (son), the “Waltz King.” The monument stands near the Kursalon Hübner, where Johann Strauss's first concert took place.
The gilded bronze monument depicts Strauss standing with a violin in his hand. Behind him is an artistic arch made of white Laas marble, decorated with reliefs depicting dancing couples. The pedestal bears the inscription: “Johann Strauss.” During the inauguration, the monument was named Johann-Strauß-Denkmal, but the spelling of his name is now outdated.
As early as 1903, four years after the composer's death, a committee was established to erect the monument. In 1906, a competition was announced, which was won by the sculptor Edmund Hellmer. However, due to financial problems and the outbreak of World War I, construction was repeatedly delayed. Pomnik Johanna Straussa w wiedeńskim Parku Miejskim (Stadtpark) jest jednym z najbardziej znanych i najczęściej fotografowanych pomników w mieście. Został wzniesiony ku czci słynnego kompozytora Johanna Straussa (syna), „króla walca”. Pomnik stoi w pobliżu Kursalon Hübner, gdzie odbył się pierwszy koncert Johanna Straussa.
Pozłacany pomnik z brązu przedstawia Straussa stojącego z skrzypcami w dłoni. Za nim wznosi się artystyczny łuk z białego marmuru z Laas, ozdobiony płaskorzeźbami przedstawiającymi tańczące pary. Na cokole widnieje napis: „Johann Strauss”. Podczas inauguracji pomnik nazwano Johann-Strauß-Denkmal, jednak pisownia jego nazwiska jest obecnie nieaktualna.
Już w 1903 roku, cztery lata po śmierci kompozytora, powołano komitet ds. wzniesienia pomnika. W 1906 roku ogłoszono konkurs, który wygrał rzeźbiarz Edmund Hellmer. Jednak z powodu problemów finansowych i wybuchu I wojny światowej budowa była wielokrotnie opóźniana. Dopiero 26 czerwca 1921 roku pomnik został uroczyście odsłonięty – przy akompaniamencie Filharmonii Wiedeńskiej.
W 1935 roku usunięto uszkodzone złocenia posągu. Przez wiele dziesięcioleci pozostawał on w kolorze brązu, aż w 1991 roku przywrócono mu pierwotne złocenia. W 2011 roku cały pomnik został gruntownie odrestaurowany.
Dzisiaj pomnik Johanna Straussa jest nie tylko symbolem muzyki wiedeńskiej, ale także znanym na całym świecie zabytkiem. Kopie pomnika znajdują się między innymi w Osace (Japonia), Kunming (Chiny), Hawanie (Kuba), Pawłowsku (Rosja) i Szanghaju – co świadczy o tym, że muzyka Johanna Straussa zachwyca ludzi na całym świecie.

Sei kreativ! :) Alle Logs, die das nicht erfüllen, werden gelöscht. Nein, Daumen mit dem Zettel ist zu wenig. Gute Beispiele: birne elja, Machzo, K-Romers.
