Alter Hafen
Der historische Alte Hafen stammt aus der Ära vor Beginn des Industriezeitalters. Er ist für den Güterumschlag nicht mehr von Bedeutung; stattdessen stellt er sowohl für Einheimische als auch für Touristen einen der attraktivsten Orte Wismars dar. Das am nördlichen Ende des alten Hafens gelegene Baumhaus verdankt seinen Namen dem Umstand, dass die Hafeneinfahrt früher des Nachts aus Sicherheitsgründen mit Hilfe eines quer gelegten langen Baumstamms abgesperrt wurde.

Old Harbour
The historic Old Harbour dates back to the era before the Industrial Revolution. It no longer plays a significant role in cargo handling; instead, it is one of the most attractive spots in Wismar for both locals and tourists. The tree house, situated at the northern end of the Old Harbour, owes its name to the fact that the harbour entrance used to be blocked off at night for safety reasons using a long tree trunk laid across the entrance.
Seehafen
Der Hafen wurde bereits 1211 urkundlich erwähnt und hat Bedeutung vor allem für Massengüter und massenhafte Stückgüter. Hauptgutarten sind Rund- und Schnittholz, Stahl und Schrott, Torf, Baustoffe und über die Ende der 1990er Jahre komplett neu gebaute Massengutanlage Kali und Salz. Der Hafen bietet insgesamt 15 Liegeplätze mit 2300 m Kailänge und zwei Dalbenplätze.
Wismar bietet seit 2013 mit dem Columbus Cruise Center Wismar (CCCW) ein Kreuzfahrt-Terminal am Liegeplatz Nr. 17 im Hafenbecken Überseehafen, das 2013 zweimal von Kreuzfahrtschiffen genutzt wurde. Es gab 2014 es zwölf Anläufe mit 14.000 Passagieren; 2016 fanden neun Anläufe statt, 2017 gab es elf Anläufe. Das Terminal wurde bis 2021 modernisiert und verlängert, sodass pro Saison etwa 30 Anläufe möglich sind.

Seaport
The port was first mentioned in historical records as early as 1211 and is particularly important for bulk cargo and bulk general cargo. The main types of cargo are round timber and sawn timber, steel and scrap metal, peat, building materials, and the potash and salt facility, which was completely rebuilt in the late 1990s. The port offers a total of 15 berths with 2,300 metres of quay length and two dolphin berths.
Since 2013, Wismar has offered a cruise terminal at berth no. 17 in the Überseehafen basin in the form of the Columbus Cruise Center Wismar (CCCW), which was used twice by cruise ships in 2013. In 2014, there were twelve calls with 14,000 passengers; in 2016, there were nine calls, and in 2017, there were eleven calls. The terminal was modernised and extended by 2021, enabling around 30 calls per season.
Westhafen
Im Jahre 1909 wurde der alte Hafen um den Westhafen ergänzt. Der Westhafen bietet 115 kleinen Segel- und Sportbooten mit einer Länge von bis zu 16 m und einem Tiefgang von 8 m Platz. Ein mobiler Kran sorgt dafür, dass die Boote für den Winter oder für Reparaturen aus dem Wasser gezogen und im Trockenen gelagert werden können. Hier befindet sich auch der südlichste Punkt der Ostsee.

West Harbour
In 1909, the old harbour was expanded to include the West Harbour. The West Harbour provides mooring for 115 small sailing and pleasure boats up to 16 metres in length and with a draught of 8 metres. A mobile crane ensures that boats can be lifted out of the water for the winter or for repairs and stored on dry land. This is also the southernmost point of the Baltic Sea.
