Welcome to Old Main at Utah State Univeristy
Mrskeegus97 & Keegus97
Standing proudly on the hill above campus, Old Main is the historic heart of Utah State University. Completed in 1890, this iconic building was the first permanent structure on campus and remains the most recognizable symbol of USU today.
Built from locally made brick, Old Main showcases beautiful historic architecture with its tall central tower, arched windows, and detailed craftsmanship. The clock tower, added later, has become a beloved landmark visible throughout the Logan Valley. From its elevated position, visitors can enjoy sweeping views of campus and the surrounding mountains.
Originally constructed to house classrooms, offices, and the university library, Old Main has served generations of students and faculty. Over the years, it has undergone careful renovations to preserve its historic character while maintaining its role as a functional academic building.
Today, Old Main stands as a reminder of the university’s beginnings and the growth of higher education in northern Utah. Whether you are visiting for the first time or returning as an alumnus, the building represents tradition, resilience, and Aggie pride.
