Deichman Bjørvika Library
Denne virtuelle cachen tar deg til Deichman Bjørvika bibliotek, et enestående arkitektonisk landemerke som også er vel verdt å utforske innvendig. Det er hovedbygningen til Deichman,
grunnlagt i 1785, og Norges eldste og største folkebibliotek, med mer enn 20 filialer rundt om i Oslo.
Deichman Bjørvika er en del av Fjordbyprosjektet. Bygningen er tegnet av Lundhagem og Atelier Oslo, åpnet for publikum 18. juni 2020,
og har siden mottatt flere priser, blant annet IFLA/Systematic Public Library of the Year-prisen.

For å logge denne cachen, vennligst gjennomfør to oppgaver:
1. Ta et bilde av deg selv, din GPS-enhet eller en personlig gjenstand ved koordinatene ovenfor, utenfor bygningen foran den 7 meter høye monumentale granittskulpturen "SKAPNING FRA IDDEFJORD", laget i 2020 av den amerikanske billedhuggeren Martin Puryear.
2. Hvis biblioteket er åpent og du føler deg komfortabel, kan du vurdere å gå inn (dette er mer en anbefaling enn et krav ;-)). I første etasje finner du det imponerende kunstverket BRAINSTORM av Lars Ø Ramberg, som er et energisk nettverk av
lysende neonslanger som svever mellom taket og gulvet. Hvor mange forskjellige farger består installasjonen av? I femte etasje finner du leseområder og rolige soner for refleksjon, sammen med en flott utsikt over omgivelsene. Du kan også ta et bilde og legge det ved loggen din.

Deichman Bjørvika Library
This cache takes you to Deichman Bjørvika Library, an outstanding architectural landmark that is well worth exploring inside as well. It is the main building of Deichman, founded in 1785,
and Norway's oldest and largest public library, with more than 20 branches across Oslo.
Deichman Bjørvika is part of the Fjord City renewal project. Designed by Lundhagem and Atelier Oslo, it opened to the public on 18 June 2020 and has since received several
awards, including the IFLA/Systematic Public Library of the Year award.
This virtual cache not only highlights the building's exterior but also encourages you to step inside, where there is much more to discover beyond books. You can find a helpful overview of exhibitions, art, and opportunities here:
six floors, a sea of possibilities
To log this cache, please complete two tasks:
1. Take a photo of yourself, your GPS, or a personal item at the above coordinates outside of the building in front of the 7-meter-tall monumental granite sculpture
"Creature from Iddefjord" created in 2020 by the American sculptor Martin Puryear.
2. If the library is open and you feel comfortable, consider going inside (this is more a recommendation then a must ;-)). On the first floor you find the impressive artwork BRAINSTORM by Lars Ø Ramberg which is an energetic network of luminous neon tubes that
float between the ceiling and the floor. How many different colors does the installation include? On the fifth floor, you will find reading areas and quiet spaces for reflection, along with a great view of the surroundings. You may also want to take a photo and include it in your log.
