The Bay of São Martinho do Porto is one of the most recognizable natural landscapes on the Portuguese coast. Seen from above, it reveals an almost perfect shape, protected from the Atlantic Ocean by a narrow natural channel that connects the open sea to the interior of the bay.
Over the years, wind, sea, and sand have shaped this unique landscape, creating a delicate balance between ocean, dune, and coastal vegetation. From some elevated points around the bay, it is possible to better understand this relationship and observe how nature has shaped this place over time. Whether on a bright sunny day, with the deep blue of the Atlantic, or on a misty afternoon when the bay appears wrapped in silence, each visit offers a different perspective. When visiting this area, please use only existing paths and respect the fragile dune ecosystem that protects this landscape.
