It all began back on May 2, 2000. The day the U.S. government turned off "Selective Availability," making high-accuracy GPS available to the public. This pivotal moment enabled the hobby of geocaching, which began the following day.
Since then, millions of geocaches have been hidden across all seven continents and 191 countries. Geocachers have found and logged over 1.2 Billion caches, and there are many more still waiting to be discovered!
