Join us at Scholz Garten, to celebrate the anniversary of the FIRST Geocaching event in the world, GC389.
This is the same historic restaurant/bar where Eoghan and Pumpkin Princess (now PDXnomad) invited other geocachers to meet up for the "Austin Geocachers Happy Hour" and in so doing, created a whole new cache type - the Event!
This is a come and go event for all geocachers who want to celebrate this anniversary. Bring your geocaching stories, and stop by for some German food and a bier. Food and beverages can be ordered at the bar and seating will be first-come-first-served throughout the venue.

Come have a beer and meet the people whose names you've been seeing in the log books.
Austin seems to have enough people interested in geocaching to pull this off. Look for GPS units on the tables or someone wearing one of the Geocaching.com t-shirts. The bar serves many beers, coffees, & wines but doesn't have a full bar (no liquor). Pool table and dart boards available. Dogs are welcome until about 10pm.

I wonder how much the location has changed in 25 years, I know Geocaching has.
Back then, it was not uncommon for a listing to be re-used. This event listing was used for at least three gatherings.
