The Village Hall here was opened in 1961 and was contsructed from two Army huts left on Spurn Head (now Spurn Head Nature Reserve) after the end of the Second World War. The Humber Estuary and Hull were major targets (about 90% of Hull's buildings were damaged or destroyed), so Spurn Head was very heavily militarised and there were a lot of Nissan type huts to choose from, although of course they needed a lot of work before they were fit to use as a Village Hall.
