Flat Matt's World Tour of Shenanigans
Once upon a time (specifically August of 2024), three friends found themselves seated around a table at Chuck's Roadhouse in Napanee, Ontario, while attending the Discover Lennox & Addington Mega.
There was food. There was laughter. There were probably too many beers.
And then... it happened.
OnABoat leaned back in his chair, full of confidence and french fries, and casually declared the most dangerous sentence ever spoken in geocaching history:
"Planning a Mega is easy."
Bigguy14760 nodded. Pasha88's eyes lit up. And somewhere, the universe quietly whispered... "Oh no..."
Bigguy and Pasha (but let's be honest... mostly Pasha) took that innocent little sentence and somehow turned it into Fall Fest, Canada's largest ever Mega Event. What started as a dinner conversation became thousands of volunteer hours, countless cups of coffee, hundreds of new geocaches, a GPS Adventure Maze, and an entire community brought together through organized chaos.
Naturally, the shenanigans couldn't stop there.
If you've ever met Bigguy14760, you'll know that he's equal parts prankster, problem solver, and professional Shenanigator. Unfortunately, he's also rather inconvenient to carry around the world.
So we made the next best thing.
Flat Matt.
Pocket-sized. Travel-friendly. Requires no checked baggage. Significantly easier to explain to airport security (trust us, we know...)
But Flat Matt has a secret...
Not every Flat Matt is what he appears to be.
Sixteen Flat Matts have been released into the wild to travel from geocacher to geocacher around the globe.
At first glance, they all look alike. They all tell a story. They all encourage a little more mischief.
But hidden among them are four very special Flat Matts.
Only four contain the clues needed to solve this puzzle.
The remaining sixteen?
Well...
They're mostly just here for the shenanigans.
Finding all four special Flat Matts won't be easy. They'll be traveling independently, visiting events, crossing borders, and photobombing adventures wherever geocachers are willing to take them.
When you discover one of the important Flat Matts, make note of the information it contains. Every clue matters.
Eventually, with a little teamwork, a little patience, and perhaps a little luck, you'll have everything needed to solve the mystery.
Because as every geocacher knows... The best puzzles aren't solved alone.
Your Mission
- Discover Flat Matt in the wild by tracking the TB codes below.
- Gather information from Flat Matt - If you've found one of the four important Flat Matts, record the information for later.
- Once you have all four pieces from the four Flat Matt TBs you need, solve the pizzle within.
- Share your adventures by posting photos of Flat Matt in interesting, unusual, or downright ridiculous places.
- Pass him along so the next cacher can continue the journey.
Whether Flat Matt ends up on a mountain summit, beside the world's largest ball of twine, at a Mega Event, on another continent, or simply enjoying an ice cream in your hometown, every stop becomes part of his story.
So which ones will you need to find? I'm not sure, but I'd start by tracking...

Some Flat Matt trackables also have copies out travelling the world... just to add to the chaos. Can who figure out who is an original and who is an imposter?
A Few Ground Rules
If you take him to an event, show him off! Take photos. Share the laughs.
Move him along when you can so someone else gets to join the adventure.
Most importantly...
Remember where all of this started. One innocent sentence. One dinner in Napanee. And one very confident declaration that...
"Planning a Mega is easy."
Turns out...
Starting one was. It's surviving the shenanigans afterward that's the hard part.
