EN Birth of Technical Education
The building that today forms part of the Technical University of Moldova holds more than a century of history. It was originally built for the Bessarabian Treasury Chamber, a state financial authority of the Russian Empire. After World War II, the building was restored and reconstructed in 1946–1948; at that time, the third floor was added.
Since 1964, it has served as the main building of the Polytechnic Institute (now the Technical University of Moldova). Today, on its main façade, you can find a memorial plaque with the portrait of Sergey Rădăuțan — the founder and first rector of the university. He was an outstanding scientist and visionary leader who dedicated his life to building higher technical education in the Republic of Moldova.
Today, this university remains a symbol of knowledge, perseverance, and belief in progress.

RO Nașterea educației tehnice
Clădirea care astăzi face parte din Universitatea Tehnică a Moldovei păstrează o istorie de peste un secol. Inițial, ea a fost construită pentru Camera de Stat a Basarabiei — o instituție financiară a Imperiului Rus. După cel de-al Doilea Război Mondial, clădirea a fost restaurată și reconstruită în perioada 1946–1948; atunci a fost adăugat al treilea etaj.
Din anul 1964, aceasta a devenit clădirea principală a Institutului Politehnic (astăzi Universitatea Tehnică a Moldovei). Pe fațada principală se află și astăzi o placă comemorativă cu portretul lui Sergiu Rădăuțan — fondatorul și primul rector al universității. El a fost un savant remarcabil și un lider vizionar, care și-a dedicat viața dezvoltării învățământului tehnic superior în Republica Moldova.
Astăzi, universitatea rămâne un simbol al cunoașterii, al perseverenței și al credinței în progres.

Das Gebäude, das heute Teil der Technischen Universität Moldau ist, blickt auf eine über hundertjährige Geschichte zurück. Ursprünglich wurde es für die Bessarabische Staatskasse errichtet — eine Finanzbehörde des Russischen Reiches. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde das Gebäude in den Jahren 1946–1948 restauriert und rekonstruiert; dabei wurde das dritte Stockwerk hinzugefügt.
Seit 1964 dient es als Hauptgebäude des Polytechnischen Instituts (heute Technische Universität Moldau). An der Hauptfassade befindet sich bis heute eine Gedenktafel mit dem Porträt von Sergej Rădăuțan — dem Gründer und ersten Rektor der Universität. Er war ein herausragender Wissenschaftler und visionärer Leiter, der sein Leben dem Aufbau der technischen Hochschulbildung in der Republik Moldau widmete.
Heute steht die Universität als Symbol für Wissen, Ausdauer und den Glauben an Fortschritt.
