Geocache Description:

Not long agp I placed a cache with the theme "old TV shows." (GC BJ2YH). That got me thinking back to my childhood, and some of the old radio shows I loved. (My parents agreed with a pundit of the time that TV was "a vaste wasteland" and didn't buy one until I was about 11! Or maybe they didn't wan't to spend the money.)

Many radio shows later became TV shows, and some even overlapped, running on radio and TV at the same time - with different plots and situations for each medium. So....here is the first in what I plan to be a series.

Radio Daze #1 - The Jack Benny Program - 1932-1955 on radio and 1950-1965 on television.

I loved this program, on radio and on TV, but radio was, IMO, better - imagination!

Later, I had the honor of meeting Mr. Benny briefly, as he was on a Los Angeles "charity telethon" on which a group I sang with also appeared. He was gracious and friendly with us "star-struck kids."

You will find the cache, a screw-top plastic jar, at: N 47° 4A.BCD W 117° 0W.XYZ

A - Mary Livingstone was Jack's beloved and forever wife in real life, though on the show she was not his wife. Her real name was not Mary Livingstone, It was Sayde Marks, who was  born in _______________( city) minus 6.

B - Jack's "valet" and sidekick on radio and on television was Rochester. The same actor portrayed him "forever," and was the first black man to have a recurring role on a national radio show. First name of the actor who brought Rochester to life.

C - Jack was actually a good violinist - not great, but more than adequate, and there are videos to prove that. However, a running gag was his horrible violin work, of which he remained blissfully unaware. His long-suffering violin teacher was portrayed by one of the best voice actors in history. Number of letters in first name.

D - And that underground  vault! Stingy Jack kept his money there. (Much creepier on radio than on TV). It was guarded by a keeper who hadn't seen the light of day since ???? Name of character - not the actor - who guarded the vault plus 2

W - Lots of jokes about the studio orchestra, especially a musician named Frank ________. Last name minus 3.

X - And that Maxwell! An ancient car, and much funnier on radio than on TV. Its sputtering engine was voiced by - last name  minus 1.

Y - On 4/5/1936 a radio feud began between Jack and_____ Last name minus 1 (The feud was not real. They were good friends.)

Z - And lastly - Benny's "perpetual age!" Add the digits and take the second of the sum.

Congratulations to Kaydekay on the First to Find on Super Bowl Sunday.
