Didcot GeoCache Series 

After our recently placed GeoCache Series at Great Western Park (GWP) (cache #1-11, 14, 17-19, 30-32, 35, 38, 60-61, 80-81, 84), Didcot (cache #12-13, 15-16, 20-25, 29, 33-34, 41-42, 44-45, 47-48, 53, 59, 62-63, 66-67, 69-79, 82-83, 90-92), Harwell (cache #26, 36-37, 43, 46, 54-55, 58, 68), Chilton (cache #27-28, 85), Sutton Courtenay (cache #39, 64-65), Milton (cache #40, 49-52, 56-57), Upton (cache #86-87), and Long Wittenham (cache #88-89) we decide to place a few more caches in other parts of Didcot and surrounding villages, in order to honour local heros, and to reflect our rich local history, stories and heritage. We hope you will enjoy these new caches and may also learn something new when you are caching, thank you!

Didcot #93 - How Fast Can You Run No. 5

Every Saturday morning I come to Ladygrove, Didcot and have a run, most of time with other runners, around the Ladygrove Park for 5 km. My Personal Best as of 5 February 2026 is 26:07, and I hope during 2026 I can beat this PB and get under 26:00. Running has become an important part of my life, and it makes my life healthier just like Geocaching. I sometimes run with my GeoKids, and it gives us a nice beginning of the weekend and lots of good memories.

This cache is a film canister and hidden near the trail path of my regular Saturday running. The published coordinates are the turning point of the running trail, where you will need to turn east for a final finishing push. The parallel railway track is busy and you may be greeted by the train drivers who often press the "choo choo" horn when passing by.

Please be safe and careful, especially when visiting with GeoKids and/or GeoPets. Please expect muggles at most times of the day, espcially during the Saturday runs where you will see many muggle runners passing by!

Please also respect the local residents when searching for the cache. You do not need to enter any private land or cross any fence.

About this multi-cache:

At the published coordinates, you will be standing in front of a lamp post. The lamp post has a white sign on it, and on the top of this sign there is a yellow warning symbol. The number of letters in the word immediately below the word "DANGER" is A.

Below this yellow warning symbol there is another blue symbol, with some white words below it. The total number of letters in the second word on the first line of these white words is B. And the number of letters in the last word on the bottom line is C.

Finally, the cycle route number below the above sign is D.

The final coordinates are a short distance away at:

W001 14 . ( B * ( C - D ) )  ( ( A - D ) * 2 )  ( B + A - D )

The checksum of all the digits in the final coordinates is 55.

Please also note: 

Please bring your own pen, and open & close the cache lid carefully so the cache and log book can survive longer. You might need a tweezer to help retrieve the log paper.

Please also replace exactly as found due to obvious reason, and please be careful with the possible thorns, stinging nettles, and overhead tree branches! Long sleeves, trousers, and gloves are recommended.

You do not need to enter any private land or cross any fence.
