Rocca al Mare piirkond on Tallinna üks parimaid linnuvaatluskohti, kuna on oluline peatumispaik ja toitumisala kaitsealustele lindudele. Asudes kõrgendikul, on Stroomi-Rocca al Mare kergliiklustee ääres oleva 9m kõrguse vaatlustorni absoluutne kõrgus ligi 13m.
Mustjõe rohealal on märgatud 189 linnuliiki, neist 63 kaitsealused, torni kõrval on ka teabetahvel. Linnutorni jäik ja piisavalt massiivne konstruktsioon minimeerib tuulest ja inimeste liikumisest tekitatud kõikumisi, tänu millele saavad huvilised ka statiivil fotografeerida
