Il Murus Servianus, o muro serviano, è l'antica cinta muraria costruita a Roma tradizionalmente attribuita al re Servio Tullio, il sesto re di Roma (regno tradizionalmente datato tra il 578 e il 535 a.C.).
Tuttavia, quella che vediamo oggi non è la muraglia originaria monarchica, bensì una ricostruzione in blocchi di tufo risalente al IV secolo a.C., dopo il sacco di Roma da parte dei Galli di Brenno nel 390 a.C. circa. È una delle prime grandi opere di architettura difensiva in pietra della Roma repubblicana.
Caratteristiche principali del Murus Servianus:

Materiale: tufo (in particolare tufo di Grotta Oscura, più resistente di quello di Fidene).

Spessore: circa 3,6 metri.

Altezza originaria: probabilmente tra i 7 e i 10 metri.

Lunghezza: circa 11 chilometri, racchiudeva i famosi sette colli di Roma.

Torri e porte: comprendeva numerose porte monumentali (come Porta Esquilina, Porta Viminale, Porta Capena), e torri a intervalli regolari.
In questo luogo, si trova un bel tratto del muro nella zona dell'Aggere con una possibile camera di lancio.

The Murus Servianus, or Servian Wall, is the ancient city wall built in Rome traditionally attributed to King Servius Tullius, the sixth king of Rome (whose reign is traditionally dated between 578 and 535 BCE).
However, what we see today is not the original wall from the monarchy period, but rather a reconstruction made of tuff blocks dating back to the 4th century BCE, after the sack of Rome by the Gauls led by Brennus around 390 BCE. It is one of the earliest major defensive stone structures of Republican Rome.
