Geocache Description:

Church Cito 011…Southampton Chapel

0945 - 1130 (approx)
Tuesday 3rd March 2026

We've been invited back to this charming spot on Tuesday 3rd March to join the Friends of Southampton Old Cemetery for the morning. The main tasks will be cutting down ivy, brambles, small saplings & nettles from the graves. The site is maintained by volunteers who have been generous enough to host us again for the morning.

There will be the usual opportunities to exchange trackables and as this event will have an official CM number, it will count toward your CM stats.

<< art to follow >>

This event also falls during CITO 2026, Season 1, so you will be able to earn a CITO 2026 Season 1 souvenir by attending.

We’ll meet at the published coordinates and sign the log. These are the old cemetery gates at the end of Cemetery Road. I’m informed that parking is free there for 4 hours. At 10am we'll walk round to the old chapel, where there will be a briefing by Bill, and then we’ll work through to approximately 1130 before stopping for refreshments.

"If the weather the day before states wet and windy the main event will be cancelled,"  but I will arrange for an impromptu litterpick (bring your litterpickers!!) in the same area of the Common.

If you are thinking of attending, please add a 'will attend' so you can be kept up to date with any updates.

IMPORTANT:

1. Please bring your own gloves.

2. Please indicate your ‘will attend’

Parking

Bill advises that parking is available along Cemetery Road, and it is free for 4 hours. We will meet at the cemetery gates, at the end of the road at the published coordinates.
