Over the last decade or so, each June has marked the Return of the Geeks, a special time that brings lovers of Statistics, Mathematics, and other related disciplines to Tampa, where we dutifully and carefully read and score student responses to the College Board's AP Statistics exam as well as others.
And so, we issue this invitation to all local geocachers and to all AP Readers who can make this event from 6:00 - 8:00PM. Come and join us for a fun meet-and-greet in front of the Tampa Convention Center at the posted coordinates that will introduce you to this game, its devotees, and to the city. I am sure I will have a new Adventure Lab set up for us to walk around the area to explore. I also noticed there are new geocaches in the area since last year, so we can hunt those down, too!
To do something new for this year's event, I have decided to make it a CITO (Cache In, Trash Out) to encourage cachers to help clean up the beautiful city of Tampa while we are in town for the week. I will provide small trash bags and gloves. We can dispose of our trash in any of the city's trash cans on the streets while we explore the city. Picking up trash is not a requirement to attend the event though!
Never geocached before? No worries! If you have a geocaching account, log a Will-Attend on this event in advance. If you don't yet have an account, don't worry - just show up at the time of the event and you'll have no trouble finding the group.
