Geocache Description:

This cache is placed on the corner of Munxar Hill & Munxar Path with a sweeping look over Munxar Reef - a site with a surprisingly intriguing historical twist. Divers discovered four Roman-era anchors below, and the surrounding seabed lines up remarkably well with the description in Acts 27:29-44.

While this is not Malta’s officially recognised location of St Paul’s Shipwreck, some researchers - most notably Bob Cornuke - have proposed that Munxar could be the true site of the event described in the biblical account. Whether or not you agree, it’s a fascinating thought!

From this vantage point, the cliffs offer breathtaking views reminiscent of Dingli Cliffs, and it’s an exceptional spot for sunsets, with the coastline glowing gold as the sun drops behind the horizon.

⚠️ Safety Notice

The cliffs in this area are extremely steep, with sudden drops and sections that have broken away in the past. Please stay well back from the edge, use caution at all times, and keep to the marked trail.

A reference-point waypoint marks the location of the proposed shipwreck site for those who want to explore the story further.

Enjoy the history, the scenery, and the adventure.
