Tucked away in the beautiful Volstruiskloof, within the scenic Banhoek Conservancy, this geocache will lead you to a refreshing waterfall just 15 minutes from Stellenbosch.
I first discovered this waterfall a few years ago on a special hike with my mom and brother. When I started geocaching again and felt the pull to hide more caches for the community, this spot immediately came to mind — close to home, wonderfully scenic, and absolutely worth the walk.

The trails are freely accessible to hikers. Gate times are 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Sunday.
The return hike is approximately 7 km, and you should allow around 3 hours in total (including time to search for the cache and enjoy the waterfall). The route is suitable for children, making it a great family adventure.
If you’ve got a little extra time and curiosity, there’s also a smaller waterfall nearby at:
S 33° 55.718
E 18° 58.534
Pack some water, take your time, and enjoy the journey — the reward at the end is well worth it.
Hint: Look on the right-hand side of the valley as you face the waterfall — along the north-east facing cliff band. The cache is tucked under a small overhang, concealed behind some very obvious stacked rocks around the container.
