Join us for Pi Weekend Puzzle Kick-Off!

You, yes YOU are invited! Tourists, sourdoughs, introverts, and everyone in between are welcome. If you hate socializing, you can come in and just grab a puzzle pack and sign the log book and I promise I won't talk to you until spoken to!
A series of new puzzles will be published during this event, and this location is a perfect spot to grab a slice of pie, solve the clues, and head into the east side to find the caches! Stop by at 5 pm, and you will be given the clues to the caches that will be published at 5:30. This is an extra half an hour head start to solve these easy-as-pi puzzles and plan your route to get the FTFs and collect some of the 14 mystery/unknown caches you need to earn all three Pi day souvenirs! The goal is seven new puzzle caches in this series, but depending on how much time Birk can find in the next few weeks, it could be all fourteen! These caches will publish at 5:30, and you will have Friday, Saturday, & Sunday to log up to 14 mystery/unknown caches to earn all three Souvenirs. On March 13, sunset isn't until 7:57, so that's 150 minutes or 2.5 hours of daylight caching after they publish to get your FTFs!
The puzzles will be accessible on the cache page, but will be handed out as paper copies at this event, so that you can work through them with a pen or pencil and with the help of your best caching buddies. Then, when you're ready, you can hop in the car or head out on foot to start finding these beauties, which are waiting for you at some of Birk's favorite East Side locations. Birk will hang out until 6 pm for anyone who needs hints, help, or just wants to stay in the warmth and eat pie. You do not have to be planning to go find these caches to enjoy some caching company!
This event is paired with a Pi-day wrap-up on Sunday afternoon, March 15th. Whoever comes to that event with the most logged finds on this cache series will win a special prize. If there is a tie, it will come down to who has the most FTFs for these new caches. Ties beyond that will be broken down by who logged the most mystery/unknown caches overall in the weekend. Don't forget that AlaskaVans will also be hosting their annual Pi Day event-- the MAIN EVENT!!-- on 3/14, so brush up your favorite pie recipes now and plan what to bring! That's an opportunity for a three-day event streak and a whole lotta fun!
For those of you who plan to solve and find some other puzzles during this weekend, be sure to attend Puzzle Study Hall @ Kaladi's on March 3rd. This will be an event at which we (hopefully) discuss puzzles we have been working on, puzzles that have us stumped, and puzzles we'd rather the CO just give us the answers for*.
If you hate puzzles and still want the souvenir, you could always check out The Aurora Challenge Trail, but many of them are not as winter-friendly as these will be!
Please RSVP for this event so that Birk has enough copies of the puzzles and saves a big enough table at the event location. See you there!
*I cannot guarantee there will be any CO willing to do this. Except probably me, because I am a class-A blabbermouth.
