#3 – Coordinates of Pi
March 14th is Pi Day ~ the perfect excuse to celebrate the infinite, irrational, and delicious number π ( 3.14 ) !
For Pi Day 2026, puzzles turn into souvenirs, and you’re about to tackle one of 16 brain-teasing Mystery caches hidden out in the wild.
Between March 13–15, 2026, you can earn three Pi Day 2026 souvenirs:
- Find 1 Mystery Cache: Coconut Cream Pi
- Find 3 Mystery Caches: Cherry Pi
- Find 14 Mystery Caches: Blueberry Pi
The number π (pi) has been known for thousands of years. It originates from the observation that every circle has the same ratio between its circumference (the distance around) and its diameter (the distance across). Ancient civilizations such as Babylon and Egypt used early approximations as far back as 2000 BCE.
The Greek mathematician Archimedes later refined this using polygons and popularized the fraction 22/7 as a good estimate. Around 480 CE, the Chinese mathematician Zu Chongzhi calculated an even more accurate fraction, 355/113.
Today, π is determined using advanced mathematical formulas and computers, and it is known to be an irrational number that never ends or repeats: 3.1415926535…
About the “Pi Coordinator”
Rumour has it there is a mysterious figure known only as the “Pi Coordinator”…
- A mastermind of numbers
- A planner of coordinates
- A slightly obsessive lover of irrational digits
He’s scattered containers through the woods, leaving only partial coordinates behind.
When viewed on the map, his placements form the shape of the π symbol as GeoArt.

How to Find the Cache
Each cache in this series requires you to:
- Solve the Jigidi jigsaw puzzle to obtain the math (click here)
- Use π = 3.14 to determine the missing final digits of the coordinates
- Verify your answer with the solution checker
- Complete the hunt and sign the log
Final Notes
Keep your eyes open ~ Pi hides love surprises!
Final cache location: N 46° ??.ABC W 066° ??.XYZ
Solve the puzzle, record the coordinates..!
Road Access Notice
Road 14 off Route 10 is an active woods road, and large logging trucks may be using it. Pull over carefully and watch for ditches along the sides. These mystery caches were placed when the road was frozen and in good plowed shape, but conditions can change… especially during spring thaw or wet weather… so use good judgment when accessing the area. An asset will be gaiters in the winter months and possibly snowshoes.
“The forest whispers in numbers… crunch them carefully.”
