In brief, my parents brought the family for a stay at the Paynesville caravan park on the foreshore early 1976. During that time they came across to Raymond Island and found a house on the market. They borrowed $20 from a older sibling toward the deposit on the house until they returned to Melbourne to make arrangements to pay the balance. Easter of that year was the first time the family holidayed together on Raymond Island and this week end a celebration to mark the occasion is being held. Five generations of the family including many friends and groups of friends have holidayed on the island over the last 50 years. The house is not big but there is always room for everyone. Raymond Island holds so many memories which are and will be treasured for years to come.
As for geocaching it is 10 years since my first cache has been published on the island. This is the first event cache.
