Hi! My name is Shruti, and this is my Gold Award project! When I considered problems, I realized that the history of the places around us is often overlooked, despite our daily passage through them. I've grown up in Shrewsbury for most of my life, so I decided to start with my hometown. I chose the form of a geocache so that people can not only visit the physical locations of these historical places, but also have fun while doing so. If you have lived in Shrewsbury for a while or are simply visiting, I hope that this geocache will help you learn more about the history of the place you call home.

Here's the description for the starting location (the District #5 Schoolhouse): You are at the first-ever school in Shrewsbury, but it is very different from the schools that we are used to in the modern day. At the time, all grades K-12 were in the same class, which could fit around 20 people. During this time, many people wouldn’t finish their schooling, and they would drop out to help their families.
