Dzień Polskiego Państwa Podziemnego jest polskim świętem państwowym obchodzonym corocznie 27 września. Dzień Polskiego Państwa Podziemnego został ustanowiony uchwałą Sejmu Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej z 11 września 1998 roku. W uchwale podkreślono znaczenie struktur Polskiego Państwa Podziemnego, które podczas II wojny światowej zapewniały ciągłość funkcjonowania władz Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej na okupowanych ziemiach. Od tego czasu święto obchodzone jest każdego roku jako forma oddania hołdu żołnierzom Armii Krajowej, członkom organizacji konspiracyjnych oraz przedstawicielom podziemnej administracji, sądownictwa i tajnego nauczania.

Główne uroczystości organizowane są w Warszawie, przede wszystkim przy Pomniku Polskiego Państwa Podziemnego i Armii Krajowej oraz przy pomniku generała Stefana Roweckiego „Grota”.

Polish Underground State Day is a Polish public holiday celebrated annually on 27 September. It commemorates the establishment of the Polish Underground State – clandestine military and civilian structures subordinate to the Government of the Republic of Poland in exile. The date of the holiday refers to the night of 26–27 September 1939, when the Service for Poland’s Victory (SZP) was established in besieged Warsaw, an event regarded as the beginning of the formation of the Polish Underground State.

In November 1939, the SZP was reorganised into the Union of Armed Struggle, which in turn became the Home Army on 14 February 1942.

Polish Underground State Day was established by a resolution of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland on 11 September 1998. The resolution emphasised the importance of the structures of the Polish Underground State, which ensured the continuity of the Republic of Poland’s authorities in the occupied territories during the Second World War. Since then, the holiday has been celebrated every year as a tribute to the soldiers of the Home Army, members of underground organisations, and representatives of the underground administration, judiciary and clandestine education system.

The main ceremonies are held in Warsaw, primarily at the Monument to the Polish Underground State and the Home Army and at the monument to General Stefan Rowecki ‘Grot’.
