What: We'll be talking about cache placement and containers. There will be an opportunity to make your own to take with you, too!
Sometimes it’s Not about the location.
Sometimes what makes you smile or laugh is the container itself.
It can be a simple container with a particular theme or unique camo.
It can be a challenging-to-find disguise that gives you great satisfaction once you ink the log sheet.
You don’t have to have been born with an artistic imagination or any special talents to turn an “ordinary” hide into one that the next finder will appreciate.
What makes for a good geocache is just a little extra time to put your own special touch on your next hide.
Let us share examples of fun, unique, and challenging hides we have seen geocaching across the United States.
There will be examples of basic and unique caches, and supplies on hand to help you make a cache you can take with you to hide in the "wild." There will be tips and suggestions on getting your cache published. If you are an experienced geocacher and want to share some of your favorites or caches that you have made, please join us and bring your cache examples!
Please log your attendance by posting a "Will Attend" as soon as possible, and include how many people will be with you so that the host can have enough supplies on hand. Please make sure to bring BUG SPRAY, a chair might be useful, & WATER or a non-alcoholic beverage.
About SAGe: A group of cachers from Savannah and the surrounding area has been hosting events, CITOs, and hiding caches in new areas. We also decided to host a monthly meet-and-greet! SAGE2023 (Savannah Area Geocaching) moniker was created to bring cachers together! We intend to host "Meet& Greet" events every month, including informative meetings, CITO events, flash mob events, and other group events. The goal is to get to know the other geocachers in our community, have a good time fellowshipping, and finally put faces with the names you keep seeing in the logs!
