Growing up in the 70s, it seemed that there was an explosion of interest in TV programs about animals. Animal Magic, Survival, The World About Us, and then at the end of the decade, the most successful of them all - Life On Earth. I always liked these, reading about the creatures of nature in a book was a poor second to seeing them in action.
These days mainstream telly is dominated by Reality TV, Game Shows, and American Cartoons for grown ups (Simpsons etc). Looking through the program titles in the TV Guide, I can never find the stuff I like.
