Come help make a positive difference in our community! This event will consist of cleaning up garbage littered around Walden Park. You may wish to bring gloves, bags, and a trash picker. Garbage bags and hand sanitizer will be provided. A group photo will be taken at the posted coordinates at 6:25 pm. Hope to see you there!
Tips for a successful CITO:
- Dress appropriately for the weather.
- Wear sturdy, closed-toed footwear.
- Wear protective gloves at all times.
- Do not touch unknown items, syringes, glass or other sharp objects.
- Leave natural materials behind (leaves, deadwood, bones, etc).
- If working near a pathway, be careful of cyclists, runners and walkers.
- Do not remove large items (bikes, tires, sleeping bags, etc).
- Take breaks. Drink water and wash or sanitize your hands before having a snack.
Garbage collected during the event will be placed beside the existing City of Calgary garbage cans for pick up by City staff. I will contact 311 to report the location of our bags.
