Matt Vogel was born & raised in Kansas City, Kansas. In 1996, he became Big Bird. In 2008, he became Sesame Street's Puppet Coordinator. Matt now plays Big Bird, The Count, Mr. Johnson, Biff, Herb the Dinosaur, Hansel, Forgetful Jones, one of the Yip-Yip Martians, Sgt. Floyd Pepper, Robin the Frog, Lew Zealand, Crazy Harry, Uncle Deadly, Pops, Dr. Julius Strangepork, & Camilla. In 2017, Vogel was cast as the new performer for KERMIT The FROG. His first official performance as Kermit took place during a "Muppet Thought of the Week" segment uploaded on the Muppets' official YouTube channel.
