Geocache Description:

Pieces of NoVAGO Pi - a GeoArt

NoVAGO

Note: This park is open from dawn to dusk. Please ONLY search for these caches then.
Failure to do so jeopardizes your ability to cache in the park.

This 15-cache geoart was conceived as a way for cachers in Northern Virginia to enjoy a day in Mickie Gordon County Park while gathering enough Unknown caches to satisfy the requirements for three Geocaching souvenirs available on the 2026 Pi Day weekend. Along the way, you can learn a little more about Northern Virginia. In addition, depending on the cache, you will also be exposed to some Pi, Pie, or Pizza (Pie) trivia. Answering the trivia questions will reveal the final coordinates for the cache. You will also have the opportunity to find a Bonus cache for the series.

To determine the cache coordinates for each cache, you will have to answer two questions: one about one of the NoVAGO jurisdictions and the other about either Pi, Pie, or Pizza Pie. The correct city/county answer will provide the decimal minute of the latitude and the Pi/Pie/Pizza answer will provide the decimal minute of the longitude. The degrees and minutes are consistent across the park for both latitude and longitude (N 38 58.nnn W 077 42.www).

Clarke County

Clarke County was formed in 1836 from Frederick County and was named after George Rogers Clark (the difference is spelling has not really been understood). Historically, this has been an agrarian area - and continues to be so, although subdivisions are starting to sprout across the county.

Who conducted the first survey of Berryville, the Clarke County seat?
x) Benjamin Berry (377)
y) George Washington (737)
z) Daniel Morgan (773)

Pizza (Pie)

Since pizza spread from its Italian roots near the end of the 19th century, pizzerias followed within a generation. In North America, one out of eight people eat a pizza every day.

Which country has the most pizzerias per capita and has the city with the most pizzas eaten per person?
a) Argentina (293)
b) Italy (239)
c) United States (923)
