Go Big or Go Home
When we started planning our first Fall Fest, we were told a lot of things.
"You're aiming too high."
"No one wants another Mega in Ontario."
"That's never going to work."
"Maybe start with something smaller and build up."
"You're new... keep your expectations realistic."
The funny thing about expectations is that they're only as big as you're willing to make them.
From day one, we decided that if we were going to do this, we were going to do it properly. We weren't interested in hosting just another event. We wanted to create an experience that people would remember long after they packed up their camping chairs and headed home. We wanted new caches, crazy gadgets, unique activities, great entertainment, and enough shenanigans that people would already be planning their return before they left the fairgrounds.
In 2025, that dream became a reality. Together with an incredible team of volunteers, amazing sponsors, generous donors, supportive landowners, local businesses, and one of the best geocaching communities anywhere, Fall Fest became the largest Mega Event Canada had ever seen.
The truth is, this cache isn't really about a giant ammo can.
It's about what happens when hundreds of people believe in the same crazy idea.
It's about every volunteer who gave up evenings and weekends to help build something special. Every sponsor who took a chance on us. Every cacher who logged a Will Attend, travelled hundreds or even thousands of kilometres, brought a friend, bought a registration package, donated a prize, hid a cache, or simply believed that this little event in Burford could become something extraordinary.
This cache is our way of saying thank you.
And yes... we may have gone just a little overboard building it.
Then again, that's kind of become our thing.
Please enjoy the cache, treat it with care, and return everything exactly as you found it so everyone can experience it the way it was intended.
