Geocache Description:

Welcome to the FF26 Primer Series, Cowpoke!

Now listen up, this here cache is NOT at the posted coordinates. You’re dealin’ with a sneaky, tricky, ppossibly evil puzzle from Pasha88, which means you'll need to wrangle that brain o’ yours and solve a riddle before you can ride out to the final hidey-hole.

This year, we’re rustlin’ up some caches nice and early—just like y’all asked—so you’ve got plenty of time to lasso those answers and find them hidden Easter Eggs before you mosey on over to Brant County.

You’ll find this series scattered ‘cross Brantford and Brant County, offerin’ a spread of difficulty and terrain ratings for every kind of cacher, from greenhorns to seasoned trail hands. These caches stand alone—no particular order needed—so you can ride your own trail.

Some hides’ll be quick park-and-grabs, while others might have you saddlin’ up for a longer trek or some tool-totin’ adventures (think kayaks, boots, ladders, and flashlights). Be sure to check them descriptions and attributes before you gallop in—don’t go chasin’ trouble outside your comfort zone.

The cache itself a large peanut butter jar loaded with swag and a logbook. Be sure to bring your trusty writin’ iron (pen or pencil) to mark your name, then put it back just the way you found it. Stealth will be handy here as this can be a very busy spot at times.

Wishin' you good tidin's when searchin' here - you're gunna need it!

Now for the Puzzle:

Planning Fall Fest takes a very special kind of person. Apparently, it takes seven of them.

The Chiefs of Shenanigans are Pasha88, Bigguy14760, Buckeye_360, Ally&Joe, M0M0f5 and igator210. Together, this highly trained and questionably supervised group spends an unreasonable amount of time talking to each other, occasionally planning a Mega event in between bad jokes, questionable suggestions, random side conversations and asking who was supposed to write something down.

Around here, though, it's the people who count. But... Pasha usually always gets the last word in.

Another Completely Normal COS Meeting

Pasha88: “I swear this was supposed to remain really simple.”

Bigguy14760: “At some point somebody should probably explain everything.”

Buckeye_360: “We definitely did not originally agree about how to handle this.”

Ally: “I thought we already decided this.”

Joe: “Can everyone explain what happened?”

M0M0f5: “Apparently nobody noticed anything.”

igator210: “I feel like we're making dangerously dumb decisions.”

And with all seven Chiefs present, another perfectly normal COS meeting begins.

Pasha: “Okay, before we start, does anyone remember what we decided about that?”

Everyone: “ABOUT WHAT?”

Pasha: “The thing we talked about a few weeks ago. You know... that thing. I'm positive we talked about it.”

Ally: “No, Amanda. We do not know it.”

Pasha: “Come on! We talked about it for at least ten minutes. Somebody must have taken notes.”

Somewhere amongst the random chatter for the next few minutes, everyone is reminded that Pasha bought them all notebooks called Things Amanda Told Me That I Probably Should Remember... so could someone please remember to use them.

Joe: “Did you write it in your notebook?”

Pasha: “I don't have a "Things Amanda Said" notebook... besides, whether or not I wrote it down isn't particularly important.”

Buckeye: “So that's a no.”

Pasha: “Maybe. But that's why there are seven of us. Somebody else has to remember it.”

Joe checks his notebook, Buckeye searches the group chat, and Bigguy somehow finds a completely unrelated conversation from four months ago that apparently still needs a decision.

Bigguy: “Hey, did we ever figure this out?”

Pasha: “Ohhhhh. I completely forgot about that. Fine, add it to the list.”

Everyone: “NO.”

Twenty minutes later, absolutely nothing from the agenda has been discussed. Everyone now knows what Ally & Joe had for dinner, Ally's kids have jumped in to give their opinion on the best Pokemon, somebody has sent a questionable meme to the group chat, two separate conversations are happening at once, and at least one Chief has wandered away from the meeting entirely.

Buckeye: “Can we please deal with ONE thing at a time?”

Pasha: “YES. Everybody stop talking. We are going to focus starting now.”

There is a brief silence while everyone appreciates the irony of Pasha88 telling six other people to focus.

Pasha: “There are only three things on the agenda. If everyone helps, we might actually finish sometime.”

M0M0f5: “Three actual things, or three Pasha things?”

Pasha: “Three actual things. I am perfectly capable of staying focused and accomplishing everything.”

Nobody responds.

The first agenda item takes four minutes.

Everyone stares at each other.

Joe: “Wait... did we just make a decision?”

Pasha: “YES! Nobody move. Somebody write it down before we all forget it.”

For once, somebody actually does.

Pasha: “Look at us! One decision down already. This meeting might actually be easy.”

This turns out to be the most incorrect statement made all evening.

The second item begins innocently enough. Forty-five minutes later, two people are Googling municipal regulations, somebody is drawing something, three spreadsheets are open, Pasha is screen-sharing the wrong window, and igator is trying to determine how a conversation that started with parking somehow became his responsibility.

igator: “How did I get involved in this?”

Nobody knows.

Apparently he has homework now.

Pasha: “Okay, we're getting nowhere. Put a pin in this and we'll come back.”

Ally: “When?”

Pasha: “Later.”

Ally: “That's not a plan.”

Pasha: “It's as much of a plan as you're getting right now.”

The third agenda item is finally introduced, only for Ally to point out that they already discussed the exact same thing at the last meeting.

Ally: “We already decided this.”

Pasha: “We did?”

Ally: “Yes.”

Pasha: “What did we decide?”

There is a long silence while everyone looks at everyone else.

Pasha: “Seriously? Out of seven people, the only person who remembers absolutely nothing is I.”

Joe: “You mean me.”

Pasha: “No grammar lessons after 9 p.m. You knew exactly what I meant. Anyway, why?”

Nobody is entirely sure what question they're now answering.

Six people begin searching the group chat anyway. Eventually Joe finds the answer buried between 46 messages about something completely unrelated, two memes and a conversation about dinner.

Joe: “FOUND IT. We already decided this three weeks ago.”

Pasha: “Perfect! Look at us being productive.”

Buckeye: “We've been here for two hours.”

Pasha: “And we've made TWO decisions!”

Ally: “One of which we apparently made three weeks ago.”

Pasha: “Still counts.”

Someone finally suggests calling it a night. There is immediate and unanimous agreement. Laptops begin closing, people start saying goodnight, and spouses who haven't seen their significant others all evening begin to emerge cautiously from other rooms.

Then Pasha leans toward the screen.

Pasha: “Wait... before everybody goes, I just have one quick question.”

Nobody moves.

Nobody speaks.

Somewhere, very quietly, another spreadsheet comes to life.

And just like that, another perfectly normal Chiefs of Shenanigans meeting continues.

Cinch up your saddle and get ready, partner— FF26 is fixin’ to be one wild geocachin’ roundup!
