Join us as we give back to the community by cleaning up the Vernon Springs Park during our CITO (Cache In Trash Out) Event.
We will meet at the Picnic Shelter immediately west of the Prairie Springs Nature Center. From there we will spread out to designated areas to pick up trash.
The restrooms with the flush toilets located adjacent to the Nature Center parking lot are open for the season. Geocachers can earn a Spring CITO 2026 Cache In Trash Out , Season 1 Souvenir by attending a CITO Event between March 1st and May 31st, 2026.
What to Bring:

A pair of gloves, your favorite trash pick-up tool, maybe a bucket, and a walking stick might be handy if you are in the steeper areas along the ditch.

We will provide trash bags, bottled water, a few buckets, and a couple of grabbers.
At the conclusion of the CITO Event, we will meet back at the Picnic Shelter for some rolls, orange juice, hot chocolate and coffee.
Prior to the event, we will be archiving some of the older caches in the Vernon Springs woods area as they have run their course. We will be replacing them with new ones. There will be a variety of caches published at the event, including a few pole caches.
