Saturday midday social with your geo-buddies :)
2026 is the 250th anniversary of US independence in 1776 so that's the theme for this year. Plus filling in our event calendars ;)
Come for snacks, drinks, lunch (your $), or just to hang out and chat. Mini-cachers, family, friends, the caching-curious, the caching-retired, visiting geocachers, and friendly muggles all welcome. Trackables and other geocache-related things for others to discover/move are encouraged.
No purchase required.
Decent-sized seating area is past all the counters and to the right and down a bit; you probably can't see it easily until you're inside. Have met here before but not on a Saturday; we'll see if it's too crowded to do this again.
Specific location (since there are so many places to eat around here):
Shilla Bakery & Cafe - Chantilly
13938 Metrotech Drive, 20151
(in the bend of the shopping strip; right of the buffet and dumpling restaurants and left of the pizza place)
No animals or outside food inside, and if you've not been feeling well please send your regrets and join your geo-buddies another time.
There are bus stops along Centreville Road and Route 50.
Huge parking lot fits just about any vehicle. Maybe not jet planes. Those can stay overhead ;)
I'd been getting tea and baked treats here since before the pandemic; somehow it wasn't until a just-before-TG '25 visit that I realized they had sandwiches - as well as a seating area(!). Had thought it was just a takeout place. Manager that day said we were welcome.
