Is it better to buy a premade pie or make yourself?
I remember growing up, hand picking blackberries and strawberries around the lower mainland. My mom mixing her pie crust by hand. The smell of berries cooking on the stove top. How she made creative designs in her pie crust topping. Fresh pies baking in the farm house were always a wonderful way to enjoy visits from friends.
I also remember the mess, the long process, how much work it seemed to be. Sometimes one does not want to wait the time it takes to gather supplies and make a pie.
