Geocache Description:

  • Original Church & College Design: The building located at Third and F Street was origianlly built beween 1904 and 1907. Later designed in 1919 specifically to accommodate a future college. It featured 16 rooms arranged around a central auditorium or sanctuary, with a science lab, kitchen, and dining room in the basement. The Brethren in Christ congregation continued to use the Third Street building until the late 1950s.
  • Foundation of Beulah College: In 1920, Rev. Burkholder founded Beulah College (later renamed Upland College) at this Third Street location. It served as a West Coast satellite campus for the Messiah Bible School and Missionary Training Home.
  • They really don't build them like they used to, must have been built with a solid foundation, this building is about 120 years old
