National Zoo Lovers Day
It's also "Draw a Picture of a Bird Day" but I was unable to fit it all into the main title. I mjust admit that this isn't quite a zoo, but there are still guinea pigs and an aviary here. The island is a lovely place to visit with or without family, with access to the whole island for the public and is situated in the River Thames. The weir at the northern end is breathtaking, the island also hosts beautiful sculptures and scenic views which includes the local wildlife. Ray Mill Island also has a circular walk and a cafe for light snacks and drinks. It is extremely popular, especially on a warm day. Boulter's Lock is to the left of the island, which you will pass on you way onto the island, and enables boats to travel up and down the River Thames. although there is a cafe on site, feel free to bring a picnic if you choose to.
