Geocache Description:

_____________________________________________________________________________

Please note: Cache was placed during the winter. Once snow is gone there is usually enough water in the ditch that boots are a must. Also, ditch is steep.Safe to park by the side of the roadway. This is a dead-end road so there is not much traffic unless people are going to or coming home from work. It is a residential neighbourhood.

A Bakers' Dozen

The idea for the name of this series of caches came from my spouse. I really liked the suggestion so I am planning on placing at least "A Baker's Dozen" of this series.

She likes to cook, but her passion is baking and is good at it. I happen to be the lucky recipient of all of her creations. (or most of them). She is brave too; she will try a brand new recipe for a special event without any back-up plan. But her confidence seems to always work out fine.

The only downside for me is that it is hard to get her to repeat a recipe that I might enjoy. She really likes to try something new every time she bakes. That is, except for Christmas. She has her list of must haves for that season; and there's lots of them. Thankfully she likes to share by taking platters of her baking to any event to which we are invited. That takes the pressure off me to eat so much. But I certainly get my share.

I plan on featuring something different for each of the caches in this series. And there's a chance the series could grow over time.

TV Baking Shows

Reality TV has all kinds of baking shows. There's cake baking, professional level, amateur level and even kids baking. It seems that there's no limit to the different types of baking challenges available. And I think it all started with the one that was based at a baking shop in New Jersey. I remember that one because my wife and daughter had the opportunity to visit it during its' heyday. In any case that stuff all looks good and is impressive, but for me; if I can't taste it I'm not really interested. But I did learn a word from the show....FON-DANT
