> The Stones Used <

In the books, you can find books with stones from different continents: India, Africa, Australia, Brazil, Vietnam, and of course one from Sweden!

A. Yellow Stone from Vietnam: The stone observed is a granite, an igneous rock formed by the slow cooling of magma. It has a granular texture with visible, interlocking crystals. The grain is medium to fine and homogeneous. Its composition includes translucent quartz with a vitreous luster, feldspars responsible for the yellow-beige hue, and small black micas. The overall luster is low to moderate, with some occasional reflections. The dominant color is warm, between cream and yellow, with gray and black undertones.

B. Bohus Granite from Sweden: Originating from BohuslÀn, this is an igneous rock formed by the slow cooling of magma. It has a granular texture with visible, well-interlocking crystals. The grain is medium and relatively homogeneous. Its dominant color is red to pink, due to the high presence of feldspars. Translucent gray quartz and scattered black micas are also observed.

C. Brazilian Blue Stone: This stone is generally a metamorphic rock similar to quartzite or marble. It has a compact texture with a slightly veined structure, marked by wavy bands. The grain is fine to medium, with inconspicuous but well-bonded crystals. Its composition is dominated by quartz, which gives it good hardness. The color varies from light blue to deep blue, with white and sometimes grayish hues.

D. Black Stone from an African Country: This stone is a dark igneous rock, similar to basalt or gabbro. It has a fine to very fine texture, with inconspicuous grains and a compact structure. The composition is dominated by ferromagnesian minerals, with little quartz. The color is dark gray to black, with some lighter inclusions. The luster is low, giving a matte to slightly satin appearance.

E. Indian Gray Granite: This granite is an igneous rock with a granular texture, with visible and interlocking crystals. The grain is medium and homogeneous. It is composed of translucent gray quartz, light feldspars, and black micas. Its dominant color is light to medium gray, with a regular mottled appearance. The luster is moderate, especially after polishing.

F. Australian Gray Stone: This stone has a granular to slightly heterogeneous texture, with visible grains of varying sizes. Its composition includes quartz, feldspars, and dark minerals. The color is gray-green with brownish and black undertones, giving a natural and irregular appearance. The luster is low to moderate.

> The composition of granite <

A. Quartz is a crystalline mineral composed of silica. It generally constitutes a significant proportion of granite and contributes to the rock's hardness.

B. Feldspars are minerals belonging to a group called tectosilicates. They give granite a variety of chemical properties and colors.

C. Micas: These are a group of layered minerals whose flat faces reflect light. The two main types of mica found in granite are muscovite (white mica) and biotite (black mica).
