The picnic schedule:
11:00 am – 12:30 pm: Registration, eat, mingle, complete Icebreaker
12:30 pm-1:00 pm: Awards and announcements
1:15 pm: Group photo
1:30 pm –2:30 pm: Caching and other activities
3:00 pm: Picnic clean-up
FEES:
$3 per person Maryland residents
$5 per person out-of-state residents
The process for participation in CAM or the picnic:
- You do not need to be an MGS member to participate in CAM or to attend the CAM Picnic.
- To earn a geocoin you must find all 10 CAM caches that will go live on geocaching.com 8:30am on Saturday, March 21, 2026. You can find the list of CAM caches on this bookmark list.
- Find the required ten caches placed around the state. Each CAM 2026 cache contains a code word – don't forget to make note of all the code words! Sign the cache's log book and make a trade if you wish.
- Once you have found all ten CAM caches there will be a decoder and a CAM Completion Form. Both links will be posted in the CAM 2026 Information Thread. Please submit your completion form as soon as you complete CAM or when the link is available. You will be required to print a CAM coin redemption form. If you like you can print your CAM Completion Certificate. The MGS will not be handing out certificates at the picnic.
- You can't have a picnic without food! Bring your favorite potluck dish and your CAM coin redemption form to the picnic on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Post on the CAM 2026 Picnic Food List page to let us know what food item(s) you intend to bring.
Cache Across Maryland 2026.
This is NOT one of the caches placed for Cache Across Maryland 2026 but the reward at the end of CAM. This year you must find all ten caches prior to the picnic held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 in order to qualify for a free Maryland Geocaching Society CAM geocoin. You must attend the picnic to get your coin. After the free coins are given out you will be able to buy coins while they last.
Make note of the code word found inside each cache container. You must enter all the words into an online decoder in order to print your CAM certificate as well as print a claim form to submit and receive your geocoin at the picnic. For a bookmark list of all 10 CAM hides go here.
