WORLD GEOMAY8 DAY 2026 - NEAR BLUE GUM TREES
I tried my best to find something "Australian" to have a link to this cool event which was started by one of our worldwide geo-mates - Bruce aka Calypso62. Check out the main event in Australia at: https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GCBJTPF. Thank you Bruce for sharing this cool idea!
Of course, the ONE thing that is all over Johannesburg, and kind of the rest of South Africa, is the Blue Gum tree! A native tree from good ol' Australia! Blue gum trees were brought to Johannesburg 140 years ago for the mining operations.
The St Stithians school grounds support a huge forest of very large blue gum trees and this venue was as close as I could get!
Come and join for a chat!
No purchase is necessary for this event but if you do want something to eat or drink, it will be for your own account.
Look forward to meeting you!
