GEOJAMBOREE XXIII
Kettletown State Park
Main Event Saturday June 20th 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

COME JOIN US FOR CONNECTICUT'S LONGEST RUNNING ANNUAL GEOCACHING EVENT!!

YES WE ARE BACK AT KETTLETOWN! HOWEVER, CAMPING AND SOME TRAILS ARE CLOSED SO NO CAMPING THIS YEAR.

MAIN EVENT  
Park entrance is at 1400 Georges Hill Road, Southbury.  Event is at posted coordinates.

There are an abundance of caches in the area including new adventure labs in the park and many of JustDuckingAround’s gadget caches in the area. We will again be planning to do a DAY-OF-ONLY ADVENTURE LAB (5 stages) as well for those in attendance.  JustDuckingAround, our local gadget maker, will be placing two new gadget caches at nearby Platt park so plan to do those before/after the event.

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS – TENTATIVE SCHEDULE BELOW

EVENT PATHTAG:  Again this year we will be providing this to you FREE of charge at registration.  This year we will be doing Flashtags, a variation of a Pathtag. We will be handing out one per Geocaching account and have about 75 to give out on a first-come, first-serve basis. This year's tag was a design that was voted best at last year's GeoJamboree by RecipeForDisaster.

 

GENERAL INFO

  • Bring your own water/snacks.
  • Be sure to bring chairs or a blanket since seating may be limited. 
  • Bring your canoes or kayaks and take full advantage of what this state park has to offer.
  • Pets on a leash are permitted in picnic areas and on hiking trails.  Pets are NOT allowed on the beach or in the campground.
  • Spread the word and help us make this the best GeoJamboree yet!
  • There is a parking fee of $15 for out-of-staters. 

RAFFLE

  • We will be doing a raffle again this year. Everyone who registers and signs the event log will receive one raffle ticket. THIS IS WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP We are looking for donations of geocaching related items! Everyone who brings items to donate for the raffle or for prizes will receive an extra raffle ticket(s), so please contribute what you can! Please message Randy (Mr Echo) or Rason (KingRason) if you are planning to bring something.

FOOD

  • We will not have organized food this year so please BRING YOUR OWN or if you are feeling generous, please bring to share!
  • We will have some waters and snacks
