SOUTH AFRICA - WWFM XXIII - 2026 - JOHANNESBURG
I'm so excited to see that this legendary event is back on the geocaching event calendar! The very first event that I attended was a WWFM organised by Damhuisclan - back in April 2008!! For a few years, the WWFM did not happen, but I'm so glad it is back again.
Date: Saturday, 12 September 2026
Time: 18h45 - Arrive at this time and assemble at the co-ordinates.
Place: Cedar Square Shopping Centre, off Cedar Road, Fourways
Dress: Wear a shirt which is one of the colours from the retro-geocaching logo - Yellow, Green, Green, Turquoise Blue/Light Blue
Instructions: We will gather at 6:45pm at the listed co-ordinates, wearing our colour t-shirt. At precisely 7pm, three loud claps will be made. At this signal, begin to "run" in a slow motion. Ultra slow, like as if a movie you are starring in, has been slowed right down. You can make it funny, with slow motion reactions. While we "run", Chariots of Fire music will play. This will go on for just over 3 minutes and then we will continue to "run" in slow motion to Run To You by Bryan Adams. We will circle the ground floor of the centre. As soon as Run To You ends, everyone needs to STOP abruptly, and dispearse quietly, as if nothing ever happened.
Group Photo: We will gather for a Group Photo just outside the Woolies entrance, after the dispersion.
Depending what people would like to do after the event, we could meet up at one of the nearby restaurants for a drink or something to eat, but this is completely your choice and not a requirement to attend and participate at this event!
