Geocache Description:

Newer and seasoned geocachers are welcome to attend this event.

Are you newer to geocaching? For best results we reccomend this program to cachers who have attend our Geocaching 101 training OR who have successfully found several traditional geocaches.

Take your geocaching skills beyond the basics with library staff and members of the Ozark Mountain Geocachers. Learn about different cache types, key geocaching terms, strategies for solving puzzles, finding tricky hides and meeting challenge requirements. Get tips for GPS troubleshooting, tackling hard-to-find caches and choosing the right gear for more advanced adventures. We’ll even step outside to search for our tricky onsite library cache. Bring a phone for best results.

This course focuses on:

  • Types of Geocaches including:

  • Troubleshooting a DNF (Did Not Find)
  • Basic Puzzle Solving
  • What to know about Challenge Caches and Field Puzzles
  • When to report a cache
  • What to bring with you

Are you more seasoned?
Please attend and be prepared to pair up with new cachers to find some caches in the nearby area of Springfield. Also, we'll have cookies.

Upcoming Classes:
Geocaching 103: Saturday, May 16th, 3pm-5pm (Further explores gadget caches and challenges, plus introduces using online tools)
