Sam361x’s Geocaching Creation Challenge 2026
Welcome to the 1st Sam361x’s Geocaching Creation Challenge (SGCC)
This is the 1st of 3 Events where geocachers can meet up and compete making the best geocache container. There will be 3 events where you are able to try to get points and win the competition. I will bring materials for the caches to the event but I highly suggest bringing some of your own. Each Event will have 3 ways you can earn points.
- Coolest Cache (The one that looks the best)
- Best Camo Cache (Best one that could be best hidden)
- Best Themed Cache (Best Chosen Theme - E.g. Easter)
Points, Scoring & Final Prizes
Best Theme 1st Place - 5 Points
Best Camo Cache 1st Place - 5 Points
Coolest Cache 1st Place - 8 Points
Coolest Cache 2nd Place - 3 Points
Coolest Cache 3rd Place - 2 Points
The Points can be earnt at any of the 3 events and the winners and prizes will be handed out at the final event. You don’t have to go all of the events to get top 3 however you will have a higher chance of winning.
The final prizes will be given out at the final event for the top 3 highest scoring points across all the events. The prizes are listed below:
🥇1st - Magnetic Sliding Cache (Large)
🥈2nd - Cadbury Milk Chocolate Block
🥉3rd - Micro Bison Tube
Rules
- You are allowed to compete with a team but the team can only work on one cache.
- You can bring your own materials for the caches. I highly recommend bringing some as I will be bringing some but it probably won’t be enough for everyone who comes.
- The cache must be able to close and have a Logbook inside. (I will bring paper)
- The cache creating time will last for 30 minutes
- Please don’t argue with the voting. I and the other judges will be fair and not be biassed.
- If you come late you are still able to participate but you won’t have extra time

Updates:
Updates will be posted on this cache as cache announcements 1 Month, 1 Week & 1 Day before each event. These announcements will include Current scores of the completion, any news or things that might change and some of the stuff I will be bringing to the event.
Ideas For What To Create:
One of the main ideas for what to make is painting a mint tin container I will probably be bringing some paint so this a a good Easy Idea on what to make. Another idea finding a small plastic container, and attaching a string to it to create a hanging cache.
How will the day work?:
3:00-3:15pm: People Arrive and sign up for the event this is also a good time to ask questions.
3:15-3:45pm: This time is where the building and construction will happen
3:45-3:50pm: Judges will vote (Time may take longer depending on how many people)
3:50-4:30pm: The results will get announced and people have time to catch up with others and have some food.
