Geocache Description:

Geocaching Queensland CacheFest 2026 - KINGAROY

Located in the heart of Queensland’s South Burnett region, Kingaroy is well known as the “Peanut Capital of Australia.” With a rich agricultural history, the town has long been a hub for peanut farming, supported by its fertile soils and ideal climate. Over the years, Kingaroy has grown into a welcoming regional centre, offering a blend of country charm, local produce and scenic surrounds. Nearby towns such as Nanango, Wondai, Murgon and Cherbourg add to the experience, each bringing their own character and history to the region.

Kingaroy already boasts a strong selection of geocaches, and when combined with those in the surrounding towns, it makes for a fantastic full day and/or weekend of caching. Our goal for this event is to build on that and make it even better.

As part of the weekend, we will be introducing a brand-new geoart series in Kingaroy, adding a creative and visual element to your caching adventure. Over in Wondai, we have published a fun 10 part tree fishing series to test your skills. For those looking to tick off a few goals, there will be a selection of new challenge caches and a nice new letterbox cache in Wondai.

This event will serve as the official opening, registration and announcement morning for CacheFest 2026 - Kingaroy and is the perfect way to start what promises to be an exciting weekend in the South Burnett.

There is so much to do in Kingaroy, we lost count of the activities that are on offer. Both Kingaroy and Wondai will feature a number of points of interest throughout the weekend, along with activities and opportunities for visitors to explore the region. If you're looking for the latest information, announcements, and updates, be sure to keep an eye on the Geocaching Queensland Events page.

As with previous events, the ever-popular bingo sheet will be on hand, giving participants another fun challenge to complete over the weekend. We are also introducing a new Passport Card, which will encourage attendees to visit various locations and take part in activities across the event area.

This event is open to everyone, whether you're a seasoned geocacher, a curious local resident, or someone completely new to the hobby. We encourage locals to come along, meet the community, and discover what geocaching is all about. To help showcase the hobby, there will be a selection of cache types on display, including a couple of gadget caches that visitors can try for themselves. A brand-new Adventure Lab will also be launched and will remain in the area after the event, providing another great activity for both visitors and locals to enjoy.

This registration event is your opportunity to collect event information, catch up with fellow geocachers, meet new people, and learn more about what the weekend has to offer. Whether you're here for the geocaching, the social aspect, or simply to see what all the excitement is about, we look forward to welcoming you to Kingaroy and kicking off a fantastic weekend together.
