Hey hey, it's Europe Day! May 5th marks Europe Day (according to the Council of Europe), a day when many European institutions open their doors to the public, including:

• European Parliament (EP)
• Council of the European Union
• European Commission (EC)
• European Economic and Social Committee (EESC)
• The European Committee of the Regions (CoR)

The original reason for the celebration was to honor the Schuman Declaration, which proposed the integration of West German, French, and Italian coal and steel production. Today, this day celebrates the many successes that numerous institutions have created since this declaration.
