Geocache Description:

No room for swag. Byop. Pretty spot w some history.

-------

While wandering through the outskirts of town, I stumbled upon a hidden gem tucked behind a row of trees. At first, I thought it was just another quiet park, but as I stepped closer, I realized there was more to this place than meets the eye. A beautifully tended garden stretched along the path, with flowers and shrubs arranged as if someone had painted the landscape themselves. Picnic tables were scattered here and there, inviting anyone to pause and soak in the peaceful atmosphere.

As I explored, I noticed a small plaque telling the story of Number 18 School, which once stood nearby. Built in the late 1800s, it served generations of local children before closing in the mid-20th century. The garden and park now honor that history, keeping the spirit of learning and community alive.

What really caught my attention, though, was a small water conservation area tucked just beyond the garden. Little streams and carefully designed plantings showed how water could be used thoughtfully, creating a mini ecosystem that thrived even with limited resources. I spent a while observing the setup, marveling at how nature, history, and human care worked together so harmoniously.

I couldn’t leave without sharing a bit of this discovery, so I’ve hidden a small token here. Take a moment to enjoy the garden, learn from the water project, and maybe leave something behind for the next curious visitor.
