This is a different kind of event to help cachers with the computing side of geocaching and how to use it to help them find locations for new cache hides; for example:
- how to find new creative locations for a hide, particularly in areas where many other caches already exist;
- how to use the nature topography to adapt new caches to create very creative hides;
- how to plan for cache placement greater than the minimum separation distance of 161 m
(0.1 miles);
- how to choose the most appropriate type of hide (trad, multi, mystery etc.) for a given situation;
- how to research other caches to get creative ideas to apply to their own new cache placements.
- how to use GIS capabilities to map out new power trails, place geotours, and other groups of caches.
Emphasis will placed on placing new caches; placing puzzle caches; field puzzles; potential placements; etc. etc. etc. The event will be held at the Duke and Duchess Pub.
Bring your computer. There is WiFi at the pub but with an unknown limit as to how many they can support on-line at the same time.
