MAKER MAGIC!
Souvenir Event! Atttendees will recieve a Maker Magi souvenir if they haven't received one already.
I have a room booked at the Placerville Library where we can gather, dicuss creative caches, share publication and hide stories (especially with new cachers). This event, as per library guidelines as well, is open to the public, so this could be a fabulous opportunity to share the love of geocaching with non-cachers, passerbys, and muggles! Just planning a fun event with some valuable information to help with hiding a cache.
THE EVENT:
- Location: Placerville Library - Placerville Library Community Meeting Room
- 345 Fair Ln, Placerville, CA 95667
- Community Meeting Room is inside the entrance, to the left (across from the bathrooms)
- Date: Friday, April 17, 2025
- Time: 2:30pm - 4pm (come when you want, leave when you want)
- Bring: if desired (I will bring some coins for discovery)
WHAT WILL BE THERE:
- Container Sizes - display of a variety of containers to help showcase the various sizes. Each size display will have a log where people can add their own example of containers of that specific size they have encountered in the wild.
- Will have a container giveaway of some kind as well - details pending
- Earthcache Basics - How to Get Started. If you have ever wanted to create an earthcache, but are hesiant because... well, you're not a geologist... then some information will be available on how to start the process. Helpful tips, links, and forms that can get you going on your very first (or your most recent) earthcache creation.
- Log Discussion - goecaching and being a "maker" is more than just about a hide. Being a good gamer, playing the game, and having fun is a huge part. As cachers, what we write in logs can be the tipping point to inspire someone to hide a cache. So dicussion of "Making a good log" and moving making a find to the next level.
- (MAYBE) Difficulty/Terain - Infomation about the D/T grid and how to classify your hide.
- Information hand out reference sheet for those who want it.
So come one, come all, come for a minute, or stay and chat. Lets get together and rejoice in the art of Making! This event is to help inspire makers, new and old, to share creativity, to chat and enjoy fellow cachers, and to teach others about the fun of our game/sport/adventure.
