About Newbury Baptist Church

Address: Newbury Baptist Church, Cheap Street, Newbury, Berkshire, RG14 5DD

For over 350 years Baptists have met to worship God together at various sites in Newbury, including the upper rooms of what is now the Camp Hopson department store.

Over the years there have been two books written about the church's history, both by former church members: one in 1940, the other in 2003.

Today, Newbury Baptist Church are a modern, close-knit community.

About this Multi-cache:

At the published coordinates, you will be standing in front of the church entrance. On the front wall there is a stone plaque, which has a year on it. Let the year be ABCD.

Please move on to Stage 2, where you will find a defibrillator on the side wall. What is the location code of this defibrillator? Let it be EFGH.

For the letters in the above location code, translate each letter to a number using A = 1, B = 2, ..., I = 9, J = 0, K = 1, ..., Z = 6 method.

The final coordinates are some distance away at:

N51   ( E * F )   ( G / F )  .  ( B / D * A )   ( E + G )   ( H - F )

W001  ( F - E )   ( G * A )  .  ( G - F )   ( H - E )   ( ( E + H ) / F )

You may check your answer via the following GeoCheck:

Please also note:

Please bring your own pen, and open & close the cache lid carefully so the cache and log book can survive longer.

Please also replace exactly as found due to obvious reason, and please be careful with the possible thorns and stinging nettles. Long sleeves, trousers, and gloves are recommended.

You do not need to cross any fence or enter any private land.

Thank you and enjoy GeoCaching!

FTF: Congratulations to sheep! for their FTF on 30 March 2026!
