Geocache Description:

Maker Magic

Your event is now part of a special series highlighting creative caches. Geocachers who log “Attended” on your event will receive the official Maker Magic souvenir.

The joy of finding a well-hidden container, the delight of discovering a clever gadget cache, and the twinkle in a cacher’s eye when signing a logbook—it’s all magic.

We’re bringing back that magical feeling with Maker Magic, a time to celebrate creative cache owners and inspire future hides. The magic is in your hands!

Come join us to learn about geocaching and even about how to create and place your own geocaches.

There will be a display of many geocaches of all shapes and sizes designed to blend in with their surroundings. There will also be matreials to construct your own geocache.

The host has created and hidden over 500 geocaches for himself and several organizations. His caches have been hidden over a 9000mi range in 4 countries. He has also found caches in all 50 states and several countries. So feel free to ask all your questions on how to build and hide caches. And build your own while here!!

We will meet at 224 W Michigan Avenue in downtown Jackson, from 1:15pm to 2:45pm. That is the:

Carnegie Library

In 1901, Andrew Carnegie donated $70,000 for the construction of a library building in the City of Jackson. The Carnegie building became the main branch for the newly created district in 1978. In 1981, with a bequest from Mrs. Mable Minter VanOrman, a circular structure was built at the rear of the library. This added an elevator, history room, back lobby, and children’s storytelling room.

The Carnegie building was designated a State Historical Site in 1979 and a National Historical Site in 1980.
